Connect your flight in the morning and your flight arrival at Sofia is in the early afternoon. Upon arrival, you are met and transferred to your hotel in Sofia. Free time for leisure in the centre of the city for first impression. A typical dinner with local music will be organised at local restaurant in the evening.

After breakfast, we will enjoy city tour of Sofia which includes sites like St. Sofia Church, Cathedral of Aleksander Nevski, Parliament, University and Russian Monument Square. A drive to the second largest Bulgarian city Plovdiv will follow. Visit the main sights including Roman theatre, and stadium, church of St. Constantin and St. Helene, Etnographical museum etc.

After breakfast, leave Plovdiv. Travel through the Bulgarian countryside and continue the journey to the “Valley of Roses” and in Kazanluk visit the Rose Museum. Afternoon visit the interesting open-air museum in the village of Etar. Another drive through the town of Tryavna with typical architecture and wooden carvings in the city center. Evening arrival in Veliko Tarnovo.

After breakfast, have a.morning tour of the “city of tsars”, one of the oldest cities in Bulgaria. The central part is the Tsarevets hill with the ruins of the imperial palace and the city walls. Short stop will follow in the nearby picturesque village of Arbanasi with its characteristic architecture. Afternoon transfer to the Turno Magurele port in Romania (ferry across the Danube River from Nikopol included). Boarding MS FIDELIO 4* to start your Danube River Cruise. Check in from 16:00. Enjoy a Bucharest city tour before our ship starts sailing at 20:00.
