Depart Sydney or Melbourn on Vietnam Airlines in the early morning or in the afternoon and arrive in Hanoi in the morning or in the evening. Upon arrival, you are welcome at the airport and transferred to the hotel. You are free at leisure to explore Hanoi on your own.

After breakfast, we depart from Hanoi and travel by air-conditioned bus through the Red River Delta to beautiful Ha Long Bay. The scenic drive will pass through some of the rural landscape before arriving in the afternoon to the World Heritage site of Ha Long Bay. Ha Long Bay consists of more than 3000 islands, which time, wind and waves have sculptured into fantastic shapes. Upon arrival, check in the junk at noon. You will experience a fantastic cruise in Ha Long bay to visit Thien Cung cave, Dau Go cave, and round over Tuan Chau Island, Dinh Huong Island, Ga Choi Island, Dog Island, Sail Island and a swim at Titov beach. Enjoy dinner on board while watching sunset and enjoy fishing and spending a night on a Junk Boat.

In the morning, you will have breakfast and from there, go for a morning cruise to visit Man's head island, Tortoise Island, Luon cave, Bai Tu Long bay, Toad Island, Bai Tho mountain. Afterwards, return to Halong city and have lunch on board. We will drive back to Hanoi for the night. In the evening enjoy a traditional Vietnamese water puppet show.

Depart for Trang An Landscape Complex There is beautiful roadside scenery on the way. After arriving in Ninh Binh Province, the guide takes you to visit Hoa Lu, the Ancient Royal Capital of Vietnam. Board a small boat to visit Tam Coc, the village of Tam Coc flooded cave karst system, Bich Dong series of mountain pagodas and the famous Bai Dinh Temple. Back to Hanoi.

Today city tour includes such sights as Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum, the One Pillar Pagoda, and the Fine Art Museum. Then move on to the Temple of Literature, Lake of Restored Sword and the Old Quarter for shopping until transferred to the airport for a flight to Hue. On arrival, you will be met and transferred to the hotel.

This morning, take a boat cruise on the Perfume River to Thien Mu Pagoda; one of the most beautiful Pagodas in Vietnam built at the end of 16th century and King Minh Mang's Tomb. In the afternoon, visit Imperial Palace; a citadel surrounded by large moats. Then continue visiting King Tu Duc’s Tomb.

Drive over the mighty Hai Van Pass. On the way there, we will visit Cham Museum where the remaining evidence of the Champa civilization can be viewed. Then visit the Marble Mountains, which are fascinating maze of cave and temples, hidden with five sacred marble rocks. Visit Hoi An Town with Japanese Bridge, Old House, Chinese Temple and Hoi An Cultural Museum.

Visit to My Son, Vietnam's most important Cham ruins site and Bang An, one of Vietnam's best preserved Cham towers. Free afternoon.

Free until transfer to the airport for the flight to Saigon. On arrival, you will be picked up and transferred to the hotel. In the afternoon, you will visit the former Presidential Palace, the History Museum, the Notre Dame Cathedral, Old Saigon Post Office and Ben Thanh Market.

Drive to Tay Ninh Province, the headquarter of a typical Vietnamese religion called Caodaiism. Visit the Holy See with the noon ceremony of Caodaiism. Then drive to amazing Cu Chi Tunnels to visit and experience a huge system of underground tunnels dug by Vietnamese guerrilas during the French and American Wars in Vietnam. Drive back to Saigon.

Enjoy the scenic journey along the National Highway bordered by green rice fields. On arrival at My Tho oldest city of Mekong River Delta, take a leisurely boat ride along the river, view the stilt houses, fruit plantations and fishing villages along the river bank. Proceed to Tortoise Islet. Then take a boat ride to An Khanh, a less touristy attraction in Ben Tre Province. Check in cruising on a hand-rowed sampan under the shadow of the water coconut trees along natural canals, then enjoy seasonal fruit & honey tea while listening to Southern Amateur Music, the only world cultural heritage in the region, performed by locals. Visit a family business which epitomizes the idyllic rural lifestyle, taste the delicious coconut candy and observe the pastoral life as you roam through the fruit plantation and village. Then drive back to Saigon.

Breakfast at the hotel. You are free at own leisure until transfer to airport. In the afternoon, you will take a flight to Phnom Penh. Upon arrival, visit National Museum, Toul Sleng Museum and the Independent Monument.

After breakfast, you will continue to visit Royal Palace, Silver Pagoda and Wat Phnom. In the afternoon, you are transferred to airport for a short flight to Siem Reap. Upon arrival, you are met and transferred to your hotel to check in. You are free at leisure or you might want to spend your evening visiting local market of Psachas and Pubstreet at your own exploration after dinner.

Visit Banteay Srey Temple and South Gate Angkor Thom, Bayon. Lunch at local restaurant. Continue your tour to Ta Promh Temple and Angkor Wat Temple.

After breakfast - Drive 18km toward Tonle sap where you will enjoy a boat ride (private boat and guide) on the Tonle Sap Lake. This is the largest permanent fresh-water lake in South-east Asia and flows into Tonle Sap River, joining the Mekong in Phnom Penh. We will see a fishermen's "floating village" with floating schools, floating police station, etc. It is same as a big village floating on the Lake, and the "village" move from place to place following water levels and current. Afterward, you are transferred to Siem Reap airport for the flight to Chiang Mai via Bangkok, Thailand. Upon arrival, you are met and transferred to hotel for the night.

Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to visit to Wat Pra Singh or Monastery of the Lion Lord, founded in the 14th century to house the ashes of King Kham Fu and serve as the principal religious center of the Lanna Kingdom. The complex is composed of several buildings of varying architectural and artistic merit that form the most famous temple in Chiang Mai. The lovely Viharn Lai Kham with gilded hall, decorated with murals of everyday life, houses the highly revered golden Phra Buddha Sihing image. Visit Wat Chedi Luang or Temple of Big Stupa, dated back to the 14th century. It took about 100 years to finish the construction of the stupa which was 82 m high and had a base diameter of 54 m and was at that time the largest building of all Lanna. It was here, where the Emerald Buddha was once enshrined in the eastern niche before it was moved to Luang Prabang. Lunch at local restaurant. Afternoon visit one of the highlights is a visit to the 600 year-old temple of Wat Pra That Doi Suthep, near the summit of Doi Suthep mountain. After a drive up the mountain’s winding road, the final climb to the site is via a magnificent Naga (dragon-headed serpent) staircase of 306 steps. Inside is an intriguing copper-plated chedi topped by a five-tier gold umbrella which contains partial relics of Lord Buddha. On a clear day, there are incomparable views over the city of Chiang Mai. Return to the hotel for freshening up. In evening, visit The Chiang Mai Night Bazaar, one of the main shopping venues in northern Thailand and is simply a can't-miss part of the whole Chiang Mai experience. It features street-side stalls selling mostly clothing and handicrafts, together with a host of shopping plazas where you can find more unique crafts and jewelry. Have your dinner at a local restaurant. Stay overnight at hotel in Chiang Mai.

Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to the Elephant Jungle Sanctuary. Learn about the elephants and change into traditional Karen clothing: • Meet the elephants. Feed, interact, and play with the elephants in a natural environment as you learn about their behavior and history. Take photos with the elephants. • Mud Spa with the elephants. • Walk with the elephants to a river and bathe them. • Eat a traditional meal and then say goodbye to the elephants. • Leave the Elephant Jungle Sanctuary and drive approximately 1.5 hours back to Chiang Mai. Stay overnight at hotel in Chiang Mai.

Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to Chiang Rai (190km). Stop at Wat Rong Khun or White temple designed and built by famous artist Chaloemchai Khositphiphat. A white ordination hall – Phra Ubosot - is decorated with silver glittering pieces of mirrors. There are large mural paintings of the Lord Buddha in different gestures. Drive to the Golden Triangle takes us to a hillside vantage point for a superb view of the point where the mountains of Laos, Myanmar ( Burma ), and Thailand merge. The vista also takes in the mighty Mekong River joining forces with the Ruak River. The tour speeds up a notch as we take an exhilarating ride in a long-tailed boat on the Mekong River to get closer to the territorial areas of Myanmar and Laos. We head to the ancient capital of Chiang Saen on the banks of this mighty waterway. Afterwards, we proceed to The Hall of Opium, a state-of-the-art 5,600 square metre museum with interactive displays, video and multi-media to give a haunting insight into the history of the drug trade, both past and present. This fascinating exhibition presenting the history of opium, its natural properties and its use dating back 5,000 years. The museum also provides a fascinating insight into opium prohibition, crime and conflict and the detrimental consequences of abusing drugs. Lunch at a local restaurant. Then transfer to Chiang Rai. Check in the hotel. Have your dinner at a local restaurant and stay overnight at hotel in Chiang Rai.

Breakfast at the hotel. Today you will have another day to visit hill tribe villages and a tea plantation in Mae Salong from Chiang Rai. You will see Akha, Yao, Shan, Lahu and Lisu hill tribe villages. Learn about the traditional garments unique to each hill tribe, and become familiar with rural village life in northern Thailand. Walk along a gorgeous mountain trail near Mae Salong Sample the oolong teas at Choui Fong Tea plantation, relax and enjoy a magnificent landscape where you will experience the process of growing and harvesting tea as well as vegetation propagation to produce tea seedlings at the nursery, whilst teaching you how to pluck tea leaves and enjoy a cup of fresh- roasted tea. Lunch at a local restaurant. Back to Chiang Rai later in the afternoon. Have your dinner at a local restaurant and stay overnight at hotel in Chiang Rai.

After breakfast, you are transferred to Chiang Rai airport for your flight to Bangkok. Upon arrival at Bangkok, you will drive to Kanchanaburi, where you will visit Hellfire Pass Museum. Hellfire Pass is by far the most impressive war memorial in Kanchanaburi. A walk through the Hellfire Pass is a moving experience that one will never forget. Then continue to drive to Krasae cave and a wooden railway bridge on the slope of a steep cliff with a nice view over the river. Next to the railway is the small Krasae Cave that is now a place of worship with a Buddha image. Stay overnight at hotel in Kanchanaburi.

You are at leisure exploring Bangkok on your own. In the afternoon, you are transferred to the airport for your flight back to Sydney or Melbourne via Saigon with Vietnam Airlines.
