This is a unique quilting tour, including two of the greatest quilting exhibitions in Asia. This 17-day tour has an itinerary specially designed to present a unique blend of quilt-related activities with culturally significant sightseeing in each country. On this tour you will be given 2 full days at the International Quilt Exhibition in Yokohama and 2 full days at the Seoul International Quilt Festival. And yes, plenty of time for unique patchwork and fabric shopping. The tour will be led from Australia by TRISH SEWELL, teacher, writer, designer and quilter.

The pilgrimage will be led from Australia by Archdeacon Ian Palmer, a senior Anglican priest in the Diocese of Canberra and Goulburn, together with his wife Elizabeth, who is a trained spiritual director. Ian and Elizabeth Palmer have led walking pilgrimages across northern Spain to Santiago de Compostela and in northern Britain following the pathways of Celtic Saints. They view life as a pilgrimage and bring years of experience of accompanying people as mentors or coaches on the journey of life. This pilgrimage begins in Rome: we visit the home town of St Francis and St Clare; take in the splendid galleries of Florence and the fragile buldings of Venice; the magnificent Alpine scenery. The pilgrimage will journey towards a moving performance of the Passion Play at Oberammergau. Ian and Elizabeth will allow space and give a framework so that we can be pilgrims together and explore the spiritual dimensions of this journey.

We will also visit Chicago, the Amish Country, Washington DC, Philadelphia, New York, Los Angeles, the Grand Canyon, Las Vegas, Yosemite National Park and San Francisco. Tricia Sewell, a teacher, designer and quilter who acted as our tour leader for a successful America Quilts Tour in April 2010 will again lead this tour in 2011.
