The pilgrimage will be led from Australia by Archdeacon Ian Palmer, a senior Anglican priest in the Diocese of Canberra and Goulburn, together with his wife Elizabeth, who is a trained spiritual director.
Ian and Elizabeth Palmer have led walking pilgrimages across northern Spain to Santiago de Compostela and in northern Britain following the pathways of Celtic Saints. They view life as a pilgrimage and bring years of experience of accompanying people as mentors or coaches on the journey of life.
This pilgrimage begins in Rome: we visit the home town of St Francis and St Clare; take in the splendid galleries of Florence and the fragile buldings of Venice; the magnificent Alpine scenery. The pilgrimage will journey towards a moving performance of the Passion Play at Oberammergau.
Ian and Elizabeth will allow space and give a framework so that we can be pilgrims together and explore the spiritual dimensions of this journey. |
